Class of 2001 Reunion Future

“When is the next reunion?”

Typically a class reunion happens in 10 year increments. So it would stand that a 20 year reunion would be next. However, some classes prefer to meet every 5 years. Honestly, it will be all depend on overall interest and commitment of those who are willing to plan it.

As of right now we will keep this website running and the class email open. With such a long block of time between reunions it will be difficult organize anything at this point. Amy has decided that she will be handing over the torch of planning future reunions to any classmate who is willing to invest the time, effort and start up funds. We thought about setting up a committee to undertake the task.

Again, here is where we need opinions, thoughts and suggestions. Please leave any feedback in the comment section below. Also, let us know if you want the job or if you are willing to take a more prominent role.

Class of 2001 Reunion Recap

First, we’d like to start by saying thank you to all who attended the reunion. We had a bigger turnout than we anticipated so it was great to see everyone who could make it. Most of the comments we received were positive. We attempted to accommodate as many desires, opinions and suggestions as we could.

One repeat complaint was the food issue. We apologize for that some offerings ran out, but as we mentioned:

* We had a very strict budget. Please remember we also had to pay for deposits, invitations, postage, door prizes, gratuities etc.

* We had more people attend than we anticipated. We planned food offerings for the # that sent in an RSVP and the funds we were sent. Again, we are thrilled more were able to attend. That was the point of the reunion and ultimately made the evening more enjoyable! (On a side note: We heard a lot of couples used the evening as a date night and enjoyed dinner out before/after the event. What a great idea!)

In the end we hope everyone enjoyed themselves. If you have any photos, comments or stories you’d like to share on the site for those who couldn’t make it please send them in!

Finally, thanks to all those who helped put the reunion together. We couldn't have done it without you!

Class Reunion Info

We've had a few questions regarding the Lucky Moose and reunion, so we thought we'd do our best to answer all your queries...

It is a lot like Munchies Emporium. (Lucky Moose website: http://www.luckymooseonline.com/) The reunion will be in a banquet room where we are having a cash bar. So, to avoid any issues with minors/alcohol, we are holding it as an adult only event.

We focused on accommodating the majority in all aspects. Most voiced their desire to have alcohol served while keeping things in a super affordable budget. It will be a casual event and you are free to come and go as you please from 6 PM to 9 PM.

Basically we are getting together to catch up, chat and reminisce while enjoying some beverages and finger foods/appetizers. We will have photos, year books, Senior Tattlers, the survey about our class we took at the end of the year...things like that.

The cost per alumni/guest is to cover deposit, food and items used to plan event (invitations, postage, etc.).

In the future we can always try new event ideas for upcoming reunions...so please understand we did our best to plan according the opinions, comments and ideas we received.

We hope to see everyone there!

Poll Results!

The results are in from the poll we ran in regards to location, date and cost.

55% voted for a location in Fort Wayne – currently we are researching costs for having the event at a restaurant with banquet style facilities to cut cost of a typical banquet hall

47% voted for the date of July 30th – we will do our very best to accommodate this date with whatever our chosen location availability is

59%
voted for a $20 and under price range with a discount of $35 per couple – this is another factor that will rely on the location’s price, but we will do our very best to keep costs down

Thanks to all who voted! Also, please spread the word that we NEED contact info. Click HERE for a link to the post with the request for info...
